It is generally convenient to locate all atomic data files in a single folder (or directory). We refer to these as data libraries.
During installation of Prism Computational Sciences software (e.g., SPECT3D, AtomicModelBuilder, and supporting atomic data files) files are set up in a directory structure similar to that shown below for Windows ("n.n.n" refers to the version number). Using this structure, one application will be able to launch another Prism application, and the different applications can share atomic data files.
The location of atomic data libraries is also controlled in SPECT3D through the Preferences dialog. Users can specify individually the location of data libraries for ATBASE, PROPACEOS, and SESAME (for applications utilizing SESAME EOS data).
